The Department of Epidemiology is dedicated to advancing public health through rigorous research, education and service. Our faculty members are experts in aging, epidemiologic methods, chronic and infectious disease epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, comparative effectiveness research and health services research. Our mission is to improve population health by investigating the complex factors that influence disease patterns, treatment outcomes, and aging processes. We strive to enhance the understanding of disease prevention, promote effective health interventions, and support evidence-based healthcare policies through collaborative, interdisciplinary research and training of future public health leaders.
