Dr. Harper has published research in collaboration with other physicians and CDC on the efficacy of antitoxin therapy in treatment of foodborne botulism in Clinical Infectious Diseases. His collaborative work in Quality was recently published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings: Innovations, Quality & Outcomes. His clinical interests focus on diagnostic stewardship, epidemiology of foodborne and waterborne illness, and the gaps between Western biomedical explanations of disease and the human experience of illness, particularly among vulnerable patient populations.
