Personal profile
Research interests
Building on a strong foundation in molecular biology, gene therapy, and viral vector development from my master’s studies in the Netherlands and PhD research in Finland, I’ve continued to expand my expertise in translational science through postdoctoral training at the Menon Lab, University of Texas Medical Branch. Driven by a deep interest in translational research, my current work explores heat-induced pathophysiological and metabolic changes at the feto-maternal interface via integration of in vitro and organ-on-chip models to simulate maternal-fetal interactions under heat stress. I also contribute to collaborative projects, including CRISPR-based studies of transporter proteins and research on exosome-mediated feto-maternal crosstalk, with the aim of advancing preterm birth drug development and delivery approaches
