Research interests
My research focuses on optimizing antimicrobial therapy through the lens of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and diagnostic stewardship. During my fellowship, I concentrated on antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and the application of precision medicine to individualize treatment at the bedside. That experience laid the foundation for my current work in antimicrobial stewardship at UTMB, where I strive to ensure every patient receives the right drug for the right bug at the right dose.
I’m particularly interested in translating pharmacologic principles into actionable stewardship strategies, especially in vulnerable pediatric populations. I’m also engaged in efforts to advance diagnostic stewardship—ensuring that laboratory testing is used thoughtfully and effectively to guide clinical care, avoid unnecessary treatments, and improve outcomes.
Ultimately, my goal is to bridge research and clinical practice in ways that are practical, data-driven, and patient-centered.
