Scope of Work: UTMB will perform the SOW as follows:

  1. Submission of the animal protocol to the UTMB- IACUC and follow up with addressing the reviewers' comments
  2. Perform an animal study using 4 pigs that will consist of the following:
  1. Perform a wound excision-infection model following an agreed-on protocol
  2. Treat wounds with transforming powder for 7 days
  3. Collect skin biopsies at 3 and 7 days to be divided by 2 for:
  1. Determination of bacterial load using microbiology techniques using one-half of the biopsy
  2. Fix the rest of the biopsies, process, and paraffin embed the tissue using the second half of the biopsy
