Project Details
Description
This is a Multi Principal Investigator (Pl) project with the Ohio State University and the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).
Dr. Ramkumar Menon will be the Pl for the UTMB, and he will be in charge of all extracellular vesicle (EV) associated work detailed in the grant. Dr. Menon's lab will establish protocols for EV isolation and generate a standard operating procedure for mass scale sample EV isolation, purification, characterization, quality control, quantitation, marker validation, and preparing them for proteomics cargo analysis. Dr. Menon will lead a team of investigators (Dr. Radnaa and a Research Associate II (RAII)).
The UTMB PIs will prepare EV samples for proteomics analysis and will also conduct assays for 3 biomarkers. Drs. Menon, Radnaa and the RAII will conduct these assays.
The UTMB will process 980 EV samples at the Proteomics Core facility.
Dr. Brandie Taylor, an Associate Professor at the UTMB, will assist in epidemiological design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
The UTMB PIs will assist Dr. Costantine in sample procurement, clinical and demographic data analysis, manuscript preparation, progress report preparation and preparing materials for presentation.
The UTMB PIs will present the work at various scientific conferences.
