Integrin Activation to Prevent Early Arteriovenous Fistula Failure in End-stage Renal Disease Patients

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Dr. Gupta’s laboratory identified LA1 as a novel integrin agonist and (with MPI Vazquez-Padron) has determined its molecular mechanism in vitro and in vivo. Dr. Gupta’s laboratory will continue collaborating with Drs. Vazquez-Padron and Shiu for the proposed mechanistic assays in the current application and will also provide this reagent for the proposed studies in this grant application. Dr. Gupta’s laboratory will also help define in vivo dose of LA1, using fee-for-service DMPK core at UF Scripps (their long term collaborators), as needed. Specific experimental details, expected outcomes and alternative strategies are defined in the main grant.
