Description

Alan L. Landay, PhD is Vice President of Team Science and Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Microbiology and Immunology at University Texas Medical Branch Galveston. Dr. Landay has close to 40 years' experience in the field of HIV basic and translational research. He has worked extensively in clinical trials development for HIV for the past 30 years having been an investigator with the AIDS Clinical Trials Group since its inception in 1987. He has served in numerous leadership roles with the group including being Chair of the Immunology Research Agenda Committee and Chair of the Therapeutic Vaccine Committee. He has been funded as an Immunology Support Laboratory for the group for 30 years and currently serves as Scientific Director of Labs for the ACTG. He will provide intellectual input related to microbiomes and immune biomarkers for cardiovascular disease.
