Description
The MD Anderson Cancer Center will enter into a contractual arrangement with The University of Texas Medical Branch for participation in this project. Shawn P.E. Nishi, M D, Professor, Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, will serve as Principal Investigator of the contract at UTMB. The scope of work for UTMB is as follow s:
• Participate in periodic team meetings and trainings.
• Provide periodic status reports related to recruitment of patients.
• Contribute to development of reminder messaging strategies.
• Identify and recruit up to 300 lung cancer screening patients over an 36 month period for the study and provide contact information to MD Anderson.
• Deliver the reminder messages prior to the screening due date using email , text, regular mail, and/or MyCha rt .
• For patients assigned to receive navigation (about 1/ 3 of enrolled patient s), provide navigation support to address barriers to screening.
• Track scheduling of screening exams and completion of screening exams.
• Contribute to dissemination of the study findings through scholarly presentation and publication.
