Project Details

Description

Neutralization assays at BSL-4. UTMB will perform an initial round of neutralization assays against Marburg-Angola virus on up to 60 mAbs provided by the sponsor using single MAb concentrations. UTMB will perform a second round of full mAb titrations against Marburg-Angola virus on up to 15 mAbs provided by the sponsor. UTMB will then perform a full mAb titrations on up to 15 of the best mAbs from the second round against Marburg-Ravn virus. Results will be provided to the sponsor. Animal studies at BSL-4. UTMB will procure up to 90 outbred Hartley guinea pigs and perform three separate challenge studies of up to 30 animals each against guinea pig adapted Marburg-Angola and/or Marburg-Ravn virus as determined by the sponsor. Animals will be challenged with guinea pig adapted Marburg viruses and treated with mAb provided by the sponsor at times after challenge as determined by the sponsor (up to three treatments no more than once per day). Data collected will include survival, weight, and viremia at day 6 or 7 after challenge by PCR.
