Abstract
In spite of authors' best efforts, bias can creep unbidden and unseen into the medical literature. Although it is not necessarily easy to control for bias, authors must at least be aware of some of the biases that may be present in order to account for them in the critical evaluation and in order to think about better study design for the future.
