Application of MR Diffusion, CT Angiography and Perfusion Imaging in Stroke Neurocritical Care

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

As new therapeutic options for acute ischemic stroke have developed, neuroimaging is playing a growing role in the selection of patients for treatment and in monitoring the therapeutic effect. The goal of neuroimaging is no longer limited to depicting early signs of infarction but now encompasses assessing the status of the cerebral vasculature, cerebral perfusion, and the existence and extent of the ischemic penumbra. This chapter will review modern CT and MR imaging strategies in patients suspected of acute ischemic stroke.
