Abstract

Bilateral recurrent parotid gland swelling after fiberoptic endoscopy is described in a patient who was on carbenoxolone sodium as part of a double blind protocol for gastric ulcers. The possible etiologies for this unusual complication of endoscopy as well as the past literature are reviewed.
