Abstract
A wide variety of bite injuries requiring medical attention are seen in the pediatric population. In the United States, it is estimated that more than 1 million children are treated annually for bites. In this chapter, we concentrate on bites of interest to the surgeon including from dogs, cats, spiders, humans, and snakes. Presentation, clinical management, and outcomes are discussed, in addition to a discussion on tetanus and rabies prophylaxis.
