Abstract

The Black Angels: The untold story of the Nurses who helped cure Tuberculosis is the story of the nurses who helped cure tuberculosis. It is really a tale of two stories, the first recounting the battle of Black nurses escaping the Jim Crow south only to experience systemic and institutional racism in the north, and secondly of tuberculosis an infectious and often deadly disease, which has plagued humanity for centuries. "The Black Angels,"is a must read for all in health care, not simply for the history lesson but for the urgent message for today.
