Abstract

Ischemic stroke is a very common cause of disability and patient mortality with a profound social and economic impact. Neuro-oncologic patients are at increased risk for central nervous system (CNS) infarcts. A variety of neuroimaging techniques are available for rapid evaluation, diagnosis and triage of patients with CNS infarcts. The imaging findings of ischemic stroke, advantages and disadvantages of neuroimaging including multi-modal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are discussed in this chapter.
