Abstract

The cost effectiveness of interventional radiological procedures (IRP) was evaluated by means of a record review at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Comparison of the charges for ten of the most frequently used IRPs with those of the surgical procedures they replace demonstrate that IRPs are, in some cases, cost-effective alternatives to surgical intervention.
