Abstract

Defects in the oxidation of fatty acids have been recently described. The frequency of these diseases, is rather high and clinical manifestations can be variable. It is important to recognize this group of disorders since treatment is available. Accurate methods of diagnosis are available and in some cases molecular biology techniques can used so diagnosis can be established in a speedy and accurate way.
