Abstract
Patients who seek mastectomies either for cancer, for risk reduction, or for other reasons like gynecomastia or gender reclassification may need skin-reducing procedures as well. This can be accomplished through reduction mammoplasty in the case of cancer followed by mastectomy but with added procedures and expense and potential complications. The so-called donut mastectomy combines a Benelli reduction procedure with a simultaneous mastectomy to accomplish the desired result in one operation.
