Abstract
Episiotomy disruption in the early postpartum period, treated traditionally with a repair delayed 4 to 6 months, pose significant and lasting morbidity to women. Clinical studies in the 1980s and in the 1900s have finally established that such repairs can be done within hours to days of the breakdown, alleviating the morbidity of expectant treatment and achieving comparable long-term results.
