EFFECTIVE USE OF LARGE DATA FILES IN MANAGEMENT DECISIONS

Abstract

Decision-making is now a much complicated procedure than it was in the past. We must make more efficient use of all relevant information. Management decisions, which should consider all relevant factors, must be based upon correct display of the relevant factors in as simple a form as possible. Scientific data reduction is on a very dramatic increase. The development of storage and retrieval systems is proceeding at a rapid pace, and computer technology is also advancing. We can look forward to an ever- increasing use for management decisions of information that have been extracted from computer files.
