Abstract
The level of HLAP isoenzyme in the non-pregnant controls was 167.8 ± 49.0 U/l (means ± SD) whilst the level in patients in the third trimester was found to be 133.2 ± 78.5 U/l. There was a statistically significant rise of HLAP during labour to 180.7 ± 83.5 U/l (t = 2.4; p<0.01).
