Abstract
The goal of prompt treatment following a stroke is to rescue the ischemic penumbra and to prevent the death of additional brain tissue. The authors review computed tamography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, and MR angiography techniques for hyperacute stroke imaging. With the proper selection of imaging techniques and the timely administration of thrombolytic therapy, it is hoped that more stroke patients will have improved outcomes.
