abstract = "Several modalities can be used in conjunction with functional neuroimaging, which includes structural and volumetric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), perfusion MRI (pMRI), functional MRI (fMRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), MR spectroscopy (MRS), and magnetoencephalography (MEG). Fusion of these modalities combines complementary information, expands resolution limits, and can improve data quality. The multimodal nature of this approach allows use of different imaging modalities for a single evaluation, thus providing a more comprehensive evaluation of the brain. Their respective contributions and limitations will be summarized in this chapter. Further discussed are key clinical uses for multimodal data, especially in context of pre-surgical planning for functional neuroimaging.",
