Abstract
A neonate with situs inversus, transposition of the great arteries, ventricular septal defect, criss-cross ventricles and hypoplastic rightventricle underwent pulmonary artery banding at the age of 7 days. Thecourse was complicated by septicaemia and subsequently the development ofan aneurysm of the pulmonary artery. Serratia marcessans was grown from theband site. The pulmonary artery aneurysm was resected and the pulmonaryartery was repaired. The literature is reviewed with the emphasis ondiagnosis, natural history and surgical management.
