Abstract
This review deals with the progress in the stereospecific synthesis of phospholipids, involving semisynthesis and total synthesis. Particularly, general approaches to the formation of asymmetric glycerophospholipid skeletons by utilizing stereospecific reactions and chiral precursors are discussed.
