Abstract
This chapter highlights the journey of two doctors and a health sciences librarian as they navigate the research and scholarly works related to medical education. Aided by their personal experiences and stories, the authors relay advice about what they wished they would have known about research and scholarship in their early academic careers. They provide a definition of research and discuss aspects of the research process including: types, methodologies, steps to success, and valuable research skills. The chapter concludes with sample cases to summarize the topics discussed in the chapter.
