Abstract

From the roots of Salvia prionitis a new norditerpene, sapriolactone was isolated and its structure elucidated on the basis of its 1H NMR spectrum and NOE experiments. Sapriolactone showed cytotoxic activity against both P388 and KB cells in vitro.
