Abstract
Even though spleen carries out several very important biological functions, little efforts have been made in understanding the splenotoxic effects resulting due to exposure to a variety of agents, and in-depth studies providing mechanistic explanation of splenic toxicity are lacking. Clearly, there is a need to understand how environmental agents elicit splenotoxic responses, especially with respect to human exposure to such agents.
