Abstract
RNA obtained from chicken lenses by phenol extraction and ethanol precipitation is contaminated with large amounts of a dialyzable, ultraviolet-absorbing material. Analysis of this material by chromatographic, spectrophotometric and enzymatic means shows it to be ATP, and to have no significant content of oligonucleotides or other nucleoside triphosphates.
