N2 - The effect of various genes involved in DNA repair functions on radiation and chemical mutagenesis in Escherichia coli is discussed and compared to similar studies done yeast. Results of the effect of various genes conferring radiation-sensitivity on mutation induction in yeast are presented and related to current ideas of mutagenesis.
