Ultraviolet light induced mutagenesis of mitochondrial genes in the rad6, rev3 and cdc8 mutants of Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Abstract

The frequency of ultraviolet light (UV) induced erythromycin resistant (eryr) mitochondrial mutations is not affected in the rad6-1 and rev3-1 mutants of Saccharomyces cerevisiae defective in UV-induced mutagenesis of nuclear genes, but is lowered in the cdc8-1 mutants, which are defective in chain elongation of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA at the restrictive temperature.
