Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to help the bariatric clinician to better understand bariatric research. This chapter will describe the types of articles published and the anatomy of these publications. Different study designs are discussed, as well as the statistical concepts used frequently in such studies. Details of the data sources or data registries are described, as well as their strength and weaknesses.
