note = "Funding Information: Prescription no. 1: the gastroenterologist must learn everything he or she can about managed care. Knowledge is our most important tool for survival and success. The AGA has recognized this need and has offered what it can to help our members, both practitioners and academicians, understand managed care. We are expanding our coding and billing seminars and have added managed care symposia to our course offerings. In addition, the AGA has sponsored the symposium that many of you saw at DDW 1994 entitled “The Contemporary Gastroenterology Practice: Managing Change.” This symposium was based on a multimedia program that was sponsored by the Glaxo Institute for Digestive Health. Finally, the AGA is joining with the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy to fund a comprehensive program that would focus on managed care issues for the gastroenterologist.",
